Nothing like proof-texting to be able to "have it your way" just like coffee...

I guess I am shocked but shouldn't be about the number of abortions by "Christians".

A Herd of Cattle

I have started taking the Bus and Train to work. Watching the people being herded into a crowd to get on and off and especially crossing the street reminds me of Jesus and His flock.

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

There are only 2 choices in life that matter. To enter that narrow Gate that belongs to our Good Shepherd, or choose the wide gate into eternal destruction.

John 10:11-15 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Lord, thank You for being our Shepherd, leading us to the narrow gate. Thank You for laying down Your life to give us life eternal. Forgive our transgressions, open our ears to hear only Your voice.
In Jesus Name
Amen.

Old Pictures

Recently, my niece and I had an awesome time of going through some old pictures of my mother’s. There were some where even I didn’t have a clue who they were, but she had written names on the back.

Looking through the past through the eyes of another, especially one who no longer able to share their lives with us, was such a blessing.

Leviticus 26:45 But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.

Sometimes we just need to take time to reflect on where we’ve been and how we got to where we are today. I am in awe of God’s goodness toward me. I am abundantly blessed. I pray that you can take a moment to reflect back on how the Lord has blessed you today, too.

Psalms 139:1-6 <> O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Lord, thank You for being our God. Thank You for loving us no matter what we’ve done or where we’ve been. We love You, Lord and all we do is for Your honor and glory.
Amen.

Oh I sure need this one - actually right now.
Some days I am just so unfocused and can't seem to find any direction, but to remember that I will forever be, one day, with my Lord. Wow...
Thanks for the reminder.

Amen!
If we are truly seeking the Lord, then  we won't find Him in places where we have to work our way to Him.
I'm just so very thankful that I have a God who accepts me for me and "nudges" me into growing more like He has called me to be every day.
(sometimes I just wish it wasn't quite so painful)

Oh I sure need this one. I think I slept about 2 hours off and on last night. Here I sit with burning eyes from lack of sleep and tears (it was really a rough day for me)
Thank you so much for sharing this. I agree, it's a keeper.

And now I am off to bed to talk to the Lord and let Him carry my burdens for one more day.
